Laurie Mang’eli, DVM
Dr. Laurie Mang’eli was born in Louisiana and raised in Nairobi, Kenya. She spent her formative years at her grandparent’s farm where she developed her love for animals. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology from Texas A&M with a special interest in fish and marine mammals. She later attended Tuskegee University where she received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Mang’eli joined our team in June 2021. Her professional interests include internal medicine and surgery, and is also seeking to increase her knowledge in aquatic medicine and veterinary chiropractic and acupuncture.
When she is not working, she enjoys hanging out with friends, outdoor activities, traveling and enjoying the comforts of home with her two fur-babies, Fiona (dog) and Boots (cat).
Minas Mkhitarian, DVM
Dr. Minas Mkhitarian grew up in a vibrant Armenian community in Los Angeles, California. However, he considers Nevada home after moving here with his family at the age of 14. He is especially fond of Nevada’s wild places, having explored many wilderness areas in the state.
Dr. Mkhitarian earned his B.S. in Biology from the University of Nevada, Reno and his DVM from Washington State University. He delights in the Human Animal Bond and feels fortunate to be a part of it as a veterinarian. On his free time you will find him involved at his church, roasting coffee, baking bread, or enjoying the great outdoors.
Dr. Mkhitarian recently discovered a passion for veterinary mission work. He just returned from Malawi and had the time of his life sharing his faith, contributing to public health, and helping people with their animals. He is excited to join the team at Seven Hills Pet Hospital and work with colleagues who are likewise committed to veterinary excellence.
Joan Tunnard, DVM
Dr. Joan Tunnard grew up in Nebraska. She earned her B.S. in Biology from Nebraska Wesleyan University and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 2008. She has spent almost ten years in the Las Vegas Valley at various animal hospitals. After spending a few years at home with children, she is excited to practice veterinary medicine again. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, especially soft tissue surgery and dentistry.
Dr. Tunnard and her husband have three children, one dog, Beignet, and two cats, Sparky and Emma. The family enjoys spending time outdoors and cheering for their favorite teams, the Vegas Golden Knights, Nebraska Cornhuskers, and LSU Tigers.
